Amanda Novak Named Co-Chair of Constangy's Artificial Intelligence Practice Group

Constangy is pleased to announce that Amanda Novak has been named co-chair of the firm's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Practice Group. Based in Minneapolis, Amanda is a member of Constangy's Cyber Team and will serve alongside partners Christine Hogan and Ashley Orler in leading the firm's multidisciplinary AI practice.

Amanda advises organizations on compliance with state, federal, and international privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence laws and regulations, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). She helps clients develop AI governance and privacy compliance programs, privacy and security policies, incident response plans, data processing agreements, and practical frameworks for the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

She also has extensive experience helping organizations respond to data privacy and security incidents, guiding clients through forensic investigations, regulatory reporting obligations, and incident response efforts.

A frequent author and speaker on privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies, Amanda regularly shares insights on the legal and governance challenges surrounding AI adoption.

Amanda earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she served as an editor of the Minnesota Law Review and published an article on the intersection of artificial intelligence and the law. She received her B.A. with honors in English from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and later earned an LL.M. in Cybercrime, Cybersecurity and International Law from the United Nations Interregional Crime & Justice Research Institute (UNICRI).

She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in U.S. law (CIPP/US) and European law (CIPP/E), an Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP), and a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), all through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Amanda also holds the Space Cybersecurity Professional Digital Badge and is admitted to practice in Minnesota and Illinois.
