Overview

Anna is a member of the Constangy Cyber Team and is based in Kansas City, Missouri. She is a member of our compliance advisory team and helps clients navigate complex data privacy and cybersecurity issues, with a focus on regulatory compliance, incident response preparation, and risk management.

Anna draws on a diverse background in government service and private practice. She has counseled organizations across a range of industries—including financial, healthcare, nonprofit, and technology organizations—on proactive and reactive responses to cybersecurity incidents, in addition to compliance with evolving privacy obligations under U.S. and international laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and state breach notification statutes.

Before joining Constangy, Anna practiced at a national law firm, where she advised clients through all phases of data incident response, including coordination with forensic investigators and communication with federal and state regulators. She also served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Divisions for the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, where she investigated deceptive practices and participated in multistate privacy and antitrust matters. In addition, while in private practice, Anna advised nonprofit organizations on privacy, governance, and compliance with corresponding state and federal statutes, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

Anna earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law, where she served as the Director of Administration, Policy, and Alumni Affairs for the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy. Anna earned her Bachelor of Arts in American Politics and Spanish from the University of Virginia, where she received various academic honors and was a violinist for the Charlottesville-University Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. Anna also holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional for United States laws (CIPP/US) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and is licensed to practice law in Kansas, Missouri, and the District of Columbia.
