Overview
Brittany is a member of the Constangy Cyber Team and is based in Dallas, Texas. She has extensive experience managing responses to data security incidents and applies her experience on a daily basis helping clients through the incident response process.
As a member of our Rapid Response Team, Brittany assists clients in responding to a variety of cyberattacks including system intrusions, business email compromises, ransomware, and the recovery of fraudulently transferred funds. During the incident response process, she helps facilitate forensic investigations, threat actor communications and network remediation efforts, and assesses statutory and contractual notification obligations, guiding communications with regulators, insurers, and law enforcement.
Prior to joining Constangy, Brittany represented clients across industries in matters involving cybersecurity incidents. Her experience includes advising on compliance with state and federal privacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA, GLBA, and insurance regulatory requirements, reviewing and negotiating contracts and business associate agreements, and working closely with international counsel and technical experts on cross-border incident response matters. Brittany also has experience developing privacy and breach response training programs, conducting risk assessments, and supporting enterprise-wide privacy initiatives.
Brittany earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she received the International and Comparative Law Certificate and was a Derrick A. Bell Student Fellowship recipient. While in law school, she served in data privacy internships for a global retailer and a software developer. Additionally, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Public and International Affairs with a concentration in Security and Intelligence Studies from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. She also earned a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Criminal Justice and Psychology, both from Wichita State University. Brittany is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US) and is admitted to practice in Texas and Pennsylvania.
About Me
Brittany is an avid Dallas sports fan attending Dallas Cowboys and Stars games whenever possible. Recently, she started her own garden at home to grow fresh herbs and vegetables. She is also a cocktail connoisseur often trying to invent her own drinks or exploring other cocktails bars in the area. When Brittany needs her daily dose of fresh air, she takes the pup out on any of the many trails around Dallas.
