Overview
Matthew represents and advises management clients on complex labor relations and employment law matters, helping them navigate disputes and maintain compliant workplaces. He focuses on delivering practical strategies that align with business goals and reduce legal risk.
Matt defends employers against claims involving wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage and hour violations in both federal and state courts. He also provides preventive counsel to help clients avoid costly litigation, advising on internal investigations, dispute resolution, workplace policies, audits, employee benefits, and disciplinary matters. His work spans both private and unionized environments, where he guides employers through challenges with clarity and efficiency.
Matt also handles a wide range of labor relations issues. He has negotiated collective bargaining agreements, represented clients in mediation and arbitration, and appeared before administrative tribunals. He regularly advocates for employers before agencies such as the National Labor Relations Board, U.S. Department of Labor, EEOC, Merit Systems Protection Board, and multiple state and local human rights commissions, civil service boards, and retirement systems.
Matthew continues to work closely with employers across industries, offering clear, business-focused advice that supports their operational objectives and helps them navigate an evolving regulatory landscape.

Representative Matters
- Represented a condominium association in an unfair labor practice proceeding before the National Labor Relations Board. Obtained dismissal of claims an employee was terminated in retaliation for alleged union organization and advocacy efforts.
- Represented an independent contractors’ cooperative and shipping company in an action brought by a former cooperative member seeking to void arbitration agreement. Obtained relief compelling former cooperative member to litigate his claims under terms of arbitration agreement.
- Represented an educational services non-profit in an administrative charge of discrimination matter before the New York City Commission on Human Rights. Obtained administrative dismissal of charge of disability discrimination and claims of retaliation based on employee’s refusal to participate in remote work during COVID pandemic.
- Represented a community health services non-profit in an administrative charge of discrimination matter before the New York City Commission on Human Rights. Obtained administrative dismissal of charge of gender identity discrimination based on requirement that all employees undergo pre-employment physical examination.
