Overview
David is a partner with over 30 years of experience counseling employers throughout the country and across a wide variety of industries on federal and state occupational safety and health requirements.
He advises clients on measures and strategies to comply with the many specific OSHA regulations and, most importantly, to maintain safe and healthy work practices and environments. David is known for working closely with companies to build practical, compliant programs that help reduce risk without compromising operational goals.
In addition to this focus on prevention, David regularly represents employers when they are investigated by federal or state OSHA agencies as the result of a serious injury or a complaint alleging workplace hazards or retaliation in violation of any one of the over 20 whistleblower laws enforced by OSHA. He helps guide companies through the investigation process, providing clear, strategic advice grounded in his understanding of OSHA regulations, procedures, and practices. If OSHA issues a citation or retaliation determination, then David vigorously defends his clients from those enforcement actions.
David frequently delivers training sessions and presentations on OSHA-related topics for industry groups and client teams. He serves on the non-profit Board that annually organizes and presents the Georgia Safety Conference, where he often addresses the attending safety professionals. David also brings his OSHA law expertise to the national Transportation Lawyers Association. In addition to his speaking engagements, David has contributed as a Chapter Author to the American Bar Association’s book on Occupational Safety and Health Law, and he writes extensively on OSHA regulatory, enforcement, and legal developments.
