OFCCP sets deadline for contractor certification

Contractor Portal will soon be live!

As anticipated, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs has launched an online portal through which contractors must certify compliance.

Previously known as the Affirmative Action Program Verification Interface (or AAP-VI), the OFCCP now calls this new tool the Contractor Portal. Details at this time are sparse, but the OFCCP has included a few FAQs and the timeline for using the portal.

According to the OFCCP, supply and service contractors and subcontractors that meet the threshold requirements for developing written affirmative action plans must certify on an annual basis whether they are developing and maintaining annual AAPs as required.

The rollout will occur as follows:

February 1, 2022 – Registration opens, and contractors can register and confirm the accuracy of company information.

March 31, 2022 – Portal opens for certification.

June 30, 2022 – Certification period closes, and contractors must certify by this deadline whether AAPs have been developed for each establishment or functional unit. Presumably, this will be an annual deadline that must be met each year.

The OFCCP indicates that additional information, including instructional videos, will be forthcoming. We will provide updates as that occurs. While awaiting that information, contractors should be reviewing existing AAPs and compliance programs to ensure that no obstacles to certifying compliance by the June 30th deadline exist.
