Overview
Taren represents employers in a wide range of employment matters, with a focus on litigation, compliance, and workplace investigations.
She defends clients in claims involving harassment, discrimination, wage and hour disputes, workers’ compensation, leave laws, and disability accommodation. Taren has represented companies in both state and federal courts and before administrative agencies including the EEOC, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York City Commission on Human Rights, and labor departments in New York and New Jersey. Her practice spans multiple jurisdictions, including matters in Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Texas, and Tennessee.
Taren regularly advises both small businesses and Fortune 500 companies on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. She supports clients with policy development, workplace training, and sensitive internal investigations. Known for her dedication and practical counsel, Taren works closely with clients to navigate complex employment issues and deliver strong, strategic representation.
Taren’s passion for advocacy extends beyond the courtroom. She is the founder of Black Young Professionals (BYP), an auxiliary of the Urban League of Rochester, which provides a platform for young professionals of color to connect, network, and engage in community service. Under her leadership, BYP has grown to more than 60 members with a reach of over 1,500 in the Rochester area.
Taren also serves on the Board of Directors for the Urban League of Rochester, Dress for Success Rochester, the Women’s Council of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, and the Sisters of St. Joseph Foundation Board, reflecting her deep commitment to civic engagement and community development.
