Woo-hoo! 2023 EEO-1 data collection will start April 30!

Analysis

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will begin accepting employers’ 2023 Component 1 EEO-1 data starting Tuesday, April 30. The last day to file the data is June 4.

The EEOC anticipates that its Component 1 Instruction Booklet, as well as the data specifications for 2023 EEO-1 reporting, will be available on its website starting March 19. The help desk will be available starting April 30.

“Component 1 data” is workforce demographic data, including job category, and the number of employees in each category by sex, and race or ethnicity.

Component 1 data must be reported by all private sector employers who have 100 or more employees, and by prime and first tier contractors that have 50 or more employees and a federal contract worth $50,000 or more.
