Overview

Carl combines the perspective of a former judge, trial attorney, and certified mediator to effectively represent and advise employers in workers’ compensation matters.

He brings a practical and strategic approach to every stage of a claim, informed by his prior role as Lead Administrative Law Judge for the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation’s Metropolitan Atlanta office. Over eight years on the bench, Carl presided over thousands of cases and trials, giving him a deep understanding of litigation dynamics and claim resolution.

Before joining the bench, Carl handled a wide range of complex legal matters as a trial attorney, including employment discrimination, medical malpractice, and toxic torts. His experience in mediation further supports his ability to guide employers through effective dispute resolution strategies—whether in the courtroom or outside of it.

Carl is a strong advocate for early intervention and risk prevention. He regularly counsels employers on proactive steps to avoid litigation, develop sound policies, and prepare for potential claims before they arise. He also enjoys speaking to attorneys, claims professionals, insurers, and employers on topics such as trial preparation, case presentation, and litigation strategy.
